Rumour has it that Apple’s looking to make its virtual assistant, Siri, a whole lot smarter and it seems that this change should happen really soon.
According to a recent report from Wired, Apple is hiring a team of experts that should create Siri’s next-gen software, which is apparently going to work with neural network algorithms. Thanks to this tech, it will be much easier for Siri to learn and understand a language – it will perform these tasks with almost human-like speed.
Android’s Google Now has already tested neural nets, and so has Microsoft – the company will be using its real-time translation feature for Skype, which should launch later this year. It seems that, by doing this, Apple is trying to catch up with its competitors.
It’s still uncertain whether this revamped Siri will launch with the new iOS 8 come fall. As soon as we have more info, we’ll let you know.
