Last week, Meizu confirmed that it will unveil a new smartphone on December 8, that is, today. The company’s VP, Li Nan, said that this “quality smartphone” was created with young people in mind.
Lan didn’t reveal that much about the handset, but it’s highly likely that the device in question is the upcoming, low-cost Meizu K52, which was spotted on GFXBench a while back. This smartphone will feature a 4.6” display, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat. On the inside will be a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek chipset, backed by 2GB of RAM, and 12GB of built-in storage. The device is expected to cost about 1,000 yuan, which is roughly €130.
Lan added that the company had no plans to introduce MX Mini models, because there’s no need for them – apparently, the Meizu MX 4 (5.36”) and the MX4 Pro (5.5”) fit everyone, even those who are not fans of large handsets.
Like we said, the new Meizu phone launches today, so stay tuned to learn more about it.
